Website Building

Last year I created my website with Squarespace which enabled me to build a professional looking website with ease. I made the layout matched my current business cards. I used the student discount in my first year of university (valid for 1 year) I then had to pay full price for 2nd year. During the start of this year, the platform decided to charge an automatic renewal fee for this year even though I specifically checked for it not to auto-renew. The new price was a much larger fee than previous years so I  cancelled and demanded a refund as they'd screwed me over with the surprise bill.  During James's  PC3 talk we were going over platform options. I wanted something simple that I could easily update and link with other social media. I Initially tried a platform called FORMAT because they had a mobile app you can update your site with. I found this very confusing and awkward to use I noticed a lot of other young emerging photographers using Cargo Collective, Cian Oba Smith's looked clean and simple so I gave this ago as the website was free to build and then you just have to pay a subscription fee if you make it a live site.

Cargo Collective offers lots of cool and different themes which are clean and slick including some interesting interactive backdrops to make your site stand out.
Cargo enables High-quality image uploads and its drag and drop system makes uploading them simple. My website using a fairly minimalistic layout with links and examples to my most recent work on the homepage. The sidebar can be used to easy access across the whole site.
