Paris Photo
So the Uni trip to Paris Photo got cancelled. So Marie and I decided to get an Airbnb and go by ourselves to explore the city and of course, Paris Photo. I'd never been to Paris (well Disneyland but does that really count?) so it was exciting for me to finally visit the French capital.
The 22nd edition of Paris photo offers its visitors access to the world of art and the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the photographic medium. The program includes exhibitions of public and private institutions, prizes, series of discussions led by artists, curators, invited critics as well as special events exploring the history of this medium; different visions and emerging practices. In association with our institutional partners, a selection of exhibitions throughout the city is proposed as part of the "A Paris during Paris Photo" program.
With nearly 60,000 visitors each year, Paris Photo is the unmissable event for all collectors, professionals and lovers of photography.
The Platform is an experimental forum, in which talks by leading photography specialists took t place – including a conversation between Daido Moriyama and Simon Baker; a day of discussions on the exhibition as a medium, curated by David Campany; and a day of artists’ talks and discussions on women in photography, curated by Fannie Escoulen. French photo magazine The Eyes is also curating a series of artists talks, hosting discussion on editorial projects by artists three times per day throughout Paris Photo, which includes both world-famous photographers such as Tod Papageorge and Joel Meyerowitz, and newer talents such as Katja Stuke and Oliver Siebe.
I filled my bag full of freebie magazines and newspapers (most of which are in French, classic)
