World Press Photo Exhibition

Myself, Marie & Danny visited the World Press Photo exhibition on the 2nd of May 2017, the exhibition took place in the cathedral De Nieuwe Kerk In Dam Square, entry was 10 euros. This exhibit runs from 14th April 17- 9th July 2017  Based in Amsterdam, The World Press Photo Foundation organises a wide range of activities that span globally with funding from partners and sponsors.
From my experience visiting i found that It’s an exhibition with lots of different images, some are beautiful and intriguing, others can be disturbing. But the goal of all the images is to tell you a story, whether you like it or not. the exhibition included a wide range of photographers and film making, a lot focussing on global issues and crisis.  some of the photographers that stuck out to me were Mathieu Willcocks- A Photographer who grew up in Hong Kong documented the Mediterranean Migration of people. His photos are all perfectly composed, something which is unusual with documentary photography. Peter Bauza- Photographing the housing crisis in Brazil focussing on 'Jambalaya', a squatting district in the western zone of Rio De Janeiro. Hossein Fatemi- Photographing the restricted western influences flourishing in Iran, an islamic country that has a strictly conservative theocratic line.
