Guest Lecture: Fashion Designer Joe Richards 23rd February 2017
Joe Richards is a fashion designer from Keynsham, His love of fashion stemmed from a very young age and after kicking his career off interning at Dior and Lanvin, and later working as a design assistant at Celine he launched his eponymous label in February 2013 at London Fashion Week. after creating many season collections he finally got what he calls his big break in his summer 2016 collection.
Joe told us how he dropped out of university because in the first term he met the editor of Vogue Japan and got the opportunity to travel to Paris. This lead to Multiple itern Jobs at prestige fashion brands
Some of his work i found particularly interesting was his collaboration with William Morris, combining contemporary fashion with classic art prints.
For our current fashion project we have to create our own fashion brand and collate it into a look book, Joe gave me advice of the clothing ideas I had in order to create a suitable, beliveable and proffesional looking fashion brand.
